We are a member of Calder Group, Europe’s largest producer of lead sheet and lead-based technical products, with operating subsidiaries in Germany, France, Netherlands, Ireland and UK.
Calder is one of the UK’s leading building materials suppliers, distributing lead sheet and ancillary products to builders merchants throughout the UK. We manufacture lead sheet to EN 12588 in a modern, world class manufacturing environment based in Chester and are the UKs leading supplier of engineered products in lead, with a wide product portfolio and a diverse customer base including nuclear power, nuclear medicine, x-ray, electronics, transport, defence and other industries.
We have a complete range of lead engineering process plant, and offer customers a complete solution from design to installation. We produce lead shot for a global customer base of specialist steel makers and design, manufacture and install shielded chambers (“hutches”) in synchrotrons and beam-lines – one of a handful of specialist businesses worldwide with this capability.
We can offer customers a Computer Aided Design capability fully linked to a CNC machine shop. This is combined with a history of 200 years of lead engineering expertise. We operate an ISO 14001 accredited management system with the goal of minimising the environmental impact of our operations and employ 125 people at its Chester production site and Gateshead sheet lead sales office. We are a member of the Calder Group, Europe’s largest producer of lead sheet and technical products.
