Calder Further Expands Machine Shop Capabilities
Calder Industrial Materials Ltd, Chester has added another CNC machining centre to its comprehensive machine shop. This is in addition to May’s announcement about the larger Haas machining centre which is now operational.
The machine, a Haas VF3 ss milling centre has just been delivered and will be commissioned during the first week in August. MD Maurice Bailey said “ it’s another endorsement of the success of our Special Products Business to be able to invest in new equipment. Like any other business you constantly need to upgrade facilities and up-skill your team to compete and win work. We have also invested in a new CAD-CAM system to make us even more flexible. We can couple this to our 3D design software to make our operation as lean and flexible as possible. We can now take models from our customers and automatically convert this to machine code. We have also been recruiting more skilled people to allow us to get the most out of our investments which in this financial climate is fantastic news. ”
Calder’s Chester operation now has an incredibly flexible machine shop which can work with most metals.
