Lead Fabrications – lead filled

Lead fabrications that are required for critical shielding applications or to hold radioactive materials can be lined with lead to provide the necessary shielding.

We offer two methods of lead lining to accommodate different vessels and circumstances. Hot filling involves us casting molten lead directly into the vessel under carefully controlled conditions in order to avoid shrinkage cavities. Alternatively we can line a vessel with rolled, extruded or machined lead in a process known as cold filling. Our hot filled process may also be complimented by high intensity gamma testing to ensure shielding integrity.
